Marsh India promotes local business leader to top post

Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, announced the promotion of Mr Sanjay Kedia to CEO and Country Manager for Marsh India Insurance Brokers Private Limited (“Marsh India”). Mr Kedia replaces Jonathan Bitcheno, who has retired to his native New Zealand after nearly 30 years with Marsh.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Alan Cheah, CEO Asia said: “I am extremely pleased to have Sanjay lead one of the most important markets for Marsh globally, given his deep knowledge of the Indian market and local experience.”

Mr Kedia started his career with Marsh in November 2002, and was the first Indian business employee of Marsh in India. He became Principal Officer in March 2003 when Marsh India was the first foreign broker to receive an insurance broking license as a composite broker in India. His experience spans insurance, reinsurance and banking, with a focus on natural resources, energy and infrastructure.
