Marsh appoints Van den Eynde to lead its major global clients’ team

Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk adviser, has appointed Gilbert Van den Eynde as the Global Leader of G5, its division that serves Marsh’s largest global clients with the most complex risk management needs. He will report to Tim Mahoney, President, Global Risk Management (GRM).

A subset of GRM, G5’s mission is to make Marsh the insurance and risk services firm of choice by the world’s largest enterprises through the design and implementation of an industry-leading global client service model for multinational companies.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Mahoney said: “The needs of global companies are changing dramatically around risk. Their exposure to risk and new categories of risk are expanding at the same time as they face increasing regulatory scrutiny in more countries concerning risk identification and management. Our approach to designing bespoke services matched to our clients’ particular needs has been very well received by our major clients, and we wish to reinforce the further development of G5 as a key strategic goal.

“With more than 20 years’ senior experience in international business and client service, Gilbert is the ideal choice to lead this team. He has held various positions within Marsh, most recently as G5 Leader in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Client Director for several of our most important clients across that region. In this new role, he will work closely with the geographies to further develop and execute our G5 strategy.”
